This was an interesting tournament. All 1, 2, and 3 seeds made it to the sweet 16. The other 4 teams were 2 4-seeds, a 5 and 12-seeded Arizona.

The Elite 8 was 2-seed MSU over 1-seed Louisville
1-seed UConn over 3-seed Mizzou
3-seed Villanova over 1-seed Pitt
1-seed UNC over 2-seed Oklahoma

In the Final 4, MSU beat UConn, UNC beat Villanova
Then UNC beat MSU in the finals


Of the 63 games we predict in our brackets, there were 16 upsets. 7 of those were in the MidWest where Siena, Arizona, Cleveland State, Dayton, and USC all pulled 1st round upsets.

The biggest upsets in terms of seeds were:

13 Cleveland State over 4 Wake Forest
12 Arizona over 5 Utah
12 Western Kentucky over 5 Illinois
12 Wisconsin over 5 Florida State

That's right, 3 of 4 12-seeds won.

13-seed Portland State Vikings couldn't pull the upset over Xavier. I was going to give them a little plug here, but decided to create a gallery devoted to PSU for the past two years (see link on left).

3 of 4 10-seeds upset the 7's, then every single one of them lost to the 2-seeds.

Wake ousted by 13-seed Cleveland State in 1st round.
Wisconsin upset Florida State in 1st round. 12-seed over 5.
Pitt ousted by Villanova in Elite 8



Other action...
Portland State matched up on paper, but on the court it looked like a mismatch as the Viks got ousted in the 1st round (for the 2nd year in a row).
